Røst is a living fishing community with deep roots. During the winter season, the harbour fills with boats taking part in the Lofoten cod fishery, and the stockfish produced here is exported as a delicacy to Italy. The abundance of fish attracts millions of seabirds, and the islands are home to the largest seabird colony in Norway. A RIB boat tour along the bird cliffs is the best way to experience this remarkable natural spectacle.
