Red houses on the edge of the sea in Bodø

Fly to Bodø

Along the coast of Nordland, where the light shifts with the seasons and the wind carries both sea salt and stories with it, lies Bodø. The city offers a vibrant town centre, a rich cultural scene, and close access to some of Norway’s most striking natural experiences.

Travel to Bodø with Widerøe

With Widerøe you can fly directly to Bodø from Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø – and you just have one transit if you are travelling from Oslo or Stavanger to Bodø. From Bodø you can fly directly to Røst, Svolvær and Leknes in Lofoten, and Brønnøysund, Mosjøen, Sandnessjøen og Mo i Rana on Helgeland.

Bodø Airport (BOO)

Bodø Airport is only 1 kilometre from the city centre, which takes about 15 minutes on foot. Outside the main entrance, you will also find buses and taxis that can take you into the city centre in 5 minutes. The airport has only one terminal for check-in and arrivals.

Why travel to Bodø?

In Bodø, you can find activities and experiences for every taste. The city has a rich history that you can explore in museums, or you can enjoy the stunning natural surrondings on foot, by bike, or by kayak. Additionally, there are unique culinary experiences you won’t want to miss.

If you want a holiday filled with fun activities on the water, you can experience the world’s strongest tidal current, Saltstraumen, on a RIB tour, go paddling on the Nordland coast or join a sea eagle safari. If you want your feet firmly on the ground, you can hike Keiservarden and get a 360-degree view of the city, the mountains and the archipelago. Or you can cycle to the paradise of Kjerringøy, which is surrounded by green meadows, steep mountains and beautiful sandy beaches.

Whether you come to witness the midnight sun or the northern lights, feel the power of Saltstraumen, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee with a view of the horizon, Bodø has something to offer all year round.
