With Widerøe, you can fly directly to Brønnøysund from Bodø and Trondheim.
From Brønnøysund, you can fly to Svolvær and Leknes in Lofoten, or to larger cities such as Stavanger, Bergen or Oslo – with just one connection. From Trondheim, you can also explore other parts of Helgeland, including Mo i Rana, Mosjøen and Sandnessjøen.
Brønnøysund offers genuine nature experiences. Start your day with a walk along the waterfront promenade, then head out by kayak and glide between islands, islets and skerries. If you prefer to stay on land, you’ll find hikes such as Gåsheia, with four peaks in one trip, or the more demanding trail to Trælneshatten.
One of the highlights is Torghatten – the mountain with a distinctive hole running right through it. The trail to the top follows well-prepared paths and stone steps and rewards you with views across the Helgeland coastline. You can also explore parts of the scenic Coastal Route by bike or bring your bike to the Vega Islands. Here, you can join a guided tour with a traditional eider keeper and visit the Vega World Heritage Centre.
There are also plenty of great stops along the way for the whole family. At the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre, you can take part in fish feeding and learn how the fish are cared for. At Svarthopen outdoor area, you’ll find accessible trails, a swimming spot and places to rest. For a bit more excitement, head to Lille Brønnøya Folk Park and try the Tarzan course, climbing nets or a mini zip line.
