Voss and Myrkdalen - snow-clad dream destinations
Voss
Fly to Bergen. After only a 90-minutes drive from Bergen airport - there is Voss, an idyllic location surrounded by high mountains, lying between the Sognefjord and the Hardangerfjord. Families, couple and groups of friends travel here all year round to experience Norwegian nature, locally produced food and extreme sports.
The uniqueness of Voss is that there are opportunities for anyone who wants to strap on a pair of skis, regardless of ability, and go cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, freeriding or ski mountaineering. You will also find Voss Ski and Tourist Centre - a cross-country skiing facility with trails at a national competition level.

Are you looking for primo skimo?
If you’re on the hunt for powder or looking for your next summit trip, Voss is a natural destination. “There are hiking areas galore! There is a varied terrain and great opportunities for trips with mountain skis or ski touring” says Linn Ravndal Norevik, Marketing Coordinator at Voss Resort. Ravndal Norevik recalls that Voss has northern Europe’s biggest gondola, a brand new system taking you from the centre up to the high mountains year-round. In winter, you can take the gondola from the centre, go to the top and glide straight out into the Voss Resort’s skiing facility.
Rich cultural life and sensuous food
Western Norway’s ski paradise has more to offer than just snow-based adventures. Ravndal Norevik highlights a lively centre with cafés, great shopping, swimming facilities and a wind tunnel. “We have a rich cultural life with many festivals and concerts”, she says, also mentioning that the region has an exciting food scene: “Many of the restaurants serve local and regional cuisine”. The region also has its own locally-produced beer, while Park Hotel Vossavangen boasts Norway’s largest wine cellar.
Myrkdalen– a powder paradis
Myrkdalen, a 30-minute drive from Voss is one of the most snow-sure ski resorts in Europe (from December to May). Uncrowded, with quiet slopes for beginners and untracked off-piste for the adventurous. Family-friendly slopes, trails of all difficulty levels, great conditions for relaxing cross-country or mountain skiing on 30 km perfectly groomed trails. The terrain is also perfect for freeskiing and powder riding.
