Check-in options

For a smooth journey, we recommend checking via the Widerøe App or online at wideroe.no.

Read more about what check-in options you have the sections below. 

Please note that you will sometimes have to check-in in at the airport, usually if your journey:

  • Begin with another airline than Widerøe.
  • At selected origin airports outside Norway.

Smooth travels with the Widerøe App
  • Check-in will be available 22 hrs before departure.
  • Your trip will be automatically available for check-in if you are logged in, and were logged in while booking your trip in the Widerøe app or at wideroe.no.
  • If you add the booking reference and last name to the app before your trip commences, we will notify you when check-in open.
  • Digital boarding pass can be used at security checkpoints and while boarding.
  • Additional services and seat selection may be available for selected journeys.
  • The app can be downloaded by opening one of the URLs below on your device:

Online check-in
  • Check-in will be available 22 hrs before departure.
  • Go to online check-in.
  • If you log in, check-in will be offered automatically when available, for trips reserved while you were logged in.
  • Alternatively, you may check-in by entering your reference number and last name.
  • Digital boarding pass can be used at security checkpoints and while boarding.
  • Additional services and seat selection may be available for selected journeys.

If the passenger is a unaccompanied minor (UM), needs assistance or brings special baggage/pets, check-in is only available at the airport.

If you are travelling with multiple airlines, remember to check in with the airline operating the first leg of your trip

E-mail check-in
  • We provide self-service check-in information to you via e-mail when the flight opens for check-in 22 hours before departure. Please ensure that the correct email address is registered in your booking.
  • You may check in on your mobile device or computer and get different selections of boarding pass - digital boarding card for Smartphone or printed boarding card.
  • If you check in on your Smartphone you are able to get a digital boarding pass and use it at security and boarding.
  • If you need a digital boardingcard after the trip has started, we recommend you to take a screenshot of your boardingcard.

Self-service check-in at the airport
  • Go to the self-service kiosk if you have any luggage and need a bag tag or need to print a boarding pass. 
  • At the self-service kiosk you can select seat, print your boarding card and bag tag.
  • Self-service check-in and bagdrop is available at the following airports:
    • Alta, Bergen, Bodø, Harstad/Narvik, Kirkenes, Kristiansand, Kristiansund, Lakselv, Molde, Oslo, Sandefjord, Stavanger, Tromsø, Trondheim, Ålesund.    

  • Go to the check-in counter if you have any luggage or need a physical boarding pass. 
  • When travelling from an airport outside of Norway, check-in counters opens 2 hours before departure.
  • Check-in counters are available at all airports we fly from.

   

Stress less is the morning!

At some airports you can check in your checked bag already the evening before for flights departing early in the morning.

Bergen Airport (BGO)

You can deliver your bags (no special baggage) between 18:00 and 22:00 (6-10 PM) in the evening for flights departing following morning before 08:00 (8 AM).

Oslo Airport (OSL)

You can deliver your bags (no special baggage) between 18:00 and 22:00 (6-10 PM) in the evening for flights departing following morning before 08:00 (8 AM).

 

Extra baggage

Need to add extra baggage, carry-on bag, or special baggage?  By doing this online more than 22 hrs before departure, you can save up to 50% compared to doing this later. 

If you check in online, you can locate the baggage delivery (bag drop) when you arrive at the airport.

Baggage must be checked and delivered within published check-in deadlines.
