Cycling along the spectacular coast of Helgeland
The Nordland coastal route is one of the most beautiful routes in the world, according to National Geographic. Cruising this stretch of coastline on two wheels is sure to blow your mind.
With Fly and Bike, you order your bike at the same time as your flight, allowing you to pedal straight out of the airport terminal.
Cycling to Torghatten
The biggest natural attraction in the area is the rock with a hole in it: Torghatten. After a gentle hour’s ride from Brønnøysund, park your bike and walk up to the hole in the rock.
– The hike is easily accessible and only takes about 15 minutes. It's worth it, to appreciate the spectacular dimensions of the hole, and it’s quite something to walk through it and see the view from both sides.
Cycling adventures
Along Kystriksveien (The Coastal road) there are many opportunities for various cycle tours, short and some a little longer. The most popular is the Helgeland coast. This is probably due to the unique and beautiful nature, but also to the fact that it is easy to cycle here. Many start from Brønnøysund, but Sandnessjøen is also a good starting point for "island hopping by bike". The most used route usually goes from Brønnøysund, via Vega and on to Herøy and Dønna.
We suggest a round trip from Brønnøysund, where you can take in the views of Torghatten, as well as take your bike island-hopping in the Vega Archipelago, a World Heritage Site. Along the way, you'll come across many local restaurants which are sure to make a lasting impression.
– This tour is suitable for anyone who is hungry for spectacular nature, as well as the good life!

Hungry for more mountains?
After three days of soaking up the good life around Brønnøysund, you might fancy continuing your tour further north to Sandnessjøen and the Seven Sisters mountain range where the mountainous landscape is sure to amaze you.

– Biking along the Helgeland coast is magical. Aside from the mountains, there are over 10 000 islands in the archipelago. It’s as beautiful as it is unspoiled, and don't miss out on some exotic coastal cultur.
A recommended stop is a visit to florist and Norwegian champion at floral design, Tommy Eide's shop on the tiny island of Herøy, not far from Sandnessjøen. – We’re talking world-class. The shop is like nothing you’ve ever experienced. It’s called Etcetera Botaniske Utskeielser (Etcetera Botanical Indulgences) for good reason!
