About Widerøe

Widerøe is the oldest Norwegian aviation group counting 3500 dedicated employees. The group consists of the subsidiaries Widerøe's Flyveselskap AS, Widerøe Ground Handling AS, Widerøe Property AS and Widerøe Asset AS. Widerøe AS is a subsidiary within the Norwegian Group.

As a provider of essential public transportation in rural Norway, Widerøe's flights play a significant role in supporting businesses, healthcare, education, tourism, and culture. For more than 90 years, Widerøe´s operations have enabled people to live and thrive along the extensive Norwegian coastline. A mission in which Widerøe take great pride and is committed to continue for another 90 years.

Widerøe's Flyveselskap operates flights to 49 destinations in Norway and Europe, and offers aircraft maintenance at five locations throughout Norway. The fleet consists of 48 aircraft, including 45 De Havilland Dash 8 turboprops as well as 3 Embraer E2 jets. The unique short haul network in Norway is central to Widerøe´s operations, both operated under contract for the Ministry of Transport in addition to commercial routes. Widerøe Ground Handling offers ground services at 41 airports.

History 

 

More than 2.8 million passengers traveled with Widerøe's airline company AS in 2017. Daily, the airline has over 400 departures. Widerøe's Flyveselskap AS operates 40 Dash 8 aircraft, which operate more than 46 airports at home and abroad. The airline operates more than twice as many airports in Norway as some other companies. The commercial routes currently comprise around 60% of Widerøe's Flyveselskap AS business, while the tender routes on the short-haul network amount to 40 per cent.

In April 2018 we received our first Embraer E190-E2 jet plane. Three planes are ordered with an option of another 12 pieces.
