Svolvær, Lofoten

Svolvær is an important junction for the entire region of Lofoten. If you are going to places like Henningsvær or Kabelvåg, this is where to fly to. What will strike you first is Svolvær´s fantastic scenery. This is definitely Lofoten, maybe even Norway, at its very best! There are vast fjords and enormous mountains, one of these being the Svolvær Goat. The brave traveller can jump from one of the goat`s horns to the other. The magical light in Lofoten, especially during winter, has always attracted a number of artists. As a result, the place has many artists and a number of galleries. A few good examples are the North Norwegian Artist Centre and Dagfinn Bakke´s Gallery. It is easy to get to Svolvær with Widerøe.
