Stokmarknes

Let Widerøe take you to Stokmarknes - an exotic coastal town in the beautiful and idyllic surroundings of Vesterålen. This charming town in the north of Norway has just over 3000 inhabitants, and bands like Banana Airlines and Madrugada both hail from here. The town is however most famous for being the home of Hurtigruten. The National Museum Foundation for the Coastal Express is located here. So is the classical coastal steamer vessel Finnmarken, now on dry land for tourists to see, and of course a port of call for Hurtigruten. Stokmarknes and the surrounding areas have a fascinating and magnificent scenery, perfect for hiking in the mountains, fishing, hunting and similar outdoor activities.
