Røst, Lofoten
Røst is one of the largest and most important fishing communities in Norway. The activity is on top especially during winter and spring, both on the water and on shore. Røst community is the largest producer of stockfish in Lofoten and export large quantities of the production to Italy.
The ocean surrounding Røst is spectacularly clean and clear and is loved by sports-divers and kayak enthusiasts amongst others. Røst has the highest population of seabirds (over 4 million) including world-known species such as puffins, cormorants, sea-eagles and many more.
And the people! Friendly, hospitable and easy to connect with ? whether you meet them on the quay, on a fishing-boat, out hiking or at a restaurant over a nice meal. They serve the most magnificent fish-dishes including stoccafisso, hjellosing, halibut and other Norwegian delicacies.
A trip to Skomvær lighthouse, the bird-mountain or fishing trips in the midnight sun can be arranged whenever you like.
Perhaps you haven?t been to Røst before? Grab the opportunity today ? unique experiences awaits you only a short flight away.
