Newcastle
Newcastle is a port and industrial city in the northeast of England named after a castle built in 1080. Parts of this historical castle can still be seen. Another landmark is the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, built in 2000. This bridge won several architectural awards, and it is a beautiful sight. Newcastle offers exciting art, culture and architecture. The shopaholic will love it here and spend hours in all the shops and malls in the city centre. The largest shopping center in Europe, Gateshead Metro Centre, is based right outside the city centre. This city is also home of the reputable Newcastle Brown Ale and the football club Newcastle United. With Widerøe you can fly directly from Stavanger to Newcastle Airport.
