Kristiansand
The Kristiansand-region is an area that invites its visitors to unfold themselves and enjoy life. To most foreign visitors it's an area that is relatively new and therefore full of surprises and hidden qualities.
Most Norwegians associate Kristiansand and the south coast of Norway with mile upon mile of tiny rocky islands and picturesque white-painted houses in sheltered inlets - all set against a backdrop of lush green forests and lakes and a mountainous and majestic inland.
Kristiansand is Norway's fifth largest town and the capitol of Southern Norway. The town is the trade and communications centre for "Sørlandet" (Southern Norway) and has extensive train, bus, ferry and plane links with the rest of Norway and abroad.
