Widerøe has several routes to this little North Norwegian town who claims to be of a stronger caliber than you´d think. And it might very well be right to claim so! The nature here is dazzling beautiful, but violent forces lurk below the surface. Amongst others you will find the worlds strongest maelstrom, Saltstraumen, 30 km south of the town centre. Almost 400 million m3 of salt water is pushed through a 150 m narrow neck of water every six hours. If you are safe ashore we can guarantee you a scenery you will never forget. Svartisen and Kjerringøy offers you dramatic nature. Another exciting attraction in Bodø is the Norwegian Aviation Museum. Here you can get a closer look at old and new aircrafts, or even try your skills as a pilot behind the joysticks in one of the powerful flight simulators. However, when you are flying around like this, make sure to look out for sea eagles!
