Andenes

Andenes has the world's largest and most successful Arctic whale watching operation. You are almost guaranteed to spot whales on these safaris. Andenes is the most convenient whale watching location in Northern Norway - it takes only an hour to reach this magnificent whale watching grounds.  When you hear the guides shout DIVE have your camera ready! This is the most impressive moment when the up to 18 meters/ 60 feet long Sperm whale raises its humongous tail fin just before descending to the depth of the vast ocean.This is an experience you don't want to miss out on!

The bird cliff Bleiksøya is a spectacular and photogenic landmark outside the Northern part of Andøya, where you can get a closer look at a number of sea bird species including puffin, kittiwake, razorbill, common shag and sea eagles. Bleik can also boast the longest white beach in Norway; Bleikstranda is 2,5km long. Although the Norwegian summers rarely inspires to sunbathing, this is a beautiful beach for long walks.

If you are interested in the Northern Lights a visit to the Northern Lights centre is recommended. The centre has exhibitions and models visualising the secrets of the northern lights. The centre is operated by Andøy Rocket Range
